After Halloween, I dive straight into a Christmas everything. My fiancé LOVES Halloween, so we are the neighbors that start decorating for fall at the end of summer; paired with nostalgic and of course, the scariest Halloween movies (alllllll) the way until October 31st which is when I get to start decorating for my favorite holiday, CHRISTMAS! Yes, of course, Thanksgiving is great but if I am being honest, as I am preparing my Thanksgiving feast, I am counting down to Christmas, haha. This has been my favorite holiday since I was a child. From searching for the perfect tree, decor, lights, giving to others, and spreading holiday cheer, I’ve always loved the holiday season, especially Christmas; and since my fiancé and I are both in event production, it is only fitting that we have the best dinner parties for our friends & family when hosting in our home. In this blog post, I am sharing one of my personal holiday cocktail staples, the Rosemary Mule.
INGREDIENTS: (makes about 4-6 cups)
- 1 Bottle of Vodka
- 1 Bottle of Ginger Beer (1 Liter)
- Sugar & Water (equal parts of each)
- 2 Limes (juice 1 lime, place aside & use the second for garnish)
- 1 Lemon (juice the lemon, place aside)
- 4 Sprigs of Rosemary
First, remember to pre-chill your Moscow Mule cups in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. In a pitcher, mix 7 shots of vodka, lime juice, lemon juice, and 3/4 cup of ginger beer; (If you like vodka infused rosemary, place 3-4 sprigs of rosemary into the vodka bottle overnight and strain into a pitcher). Want it sweeter? Mix equal parts water and sugar in a skillet, over the stove on medium heat until it thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Remember to continue to stir through the bubbles and do not leave it unattended. Leave the mixture in the fridge overnight and Viola! you have made simple syrup. Add the simple syrup to taste when making your Rosemary Mule, add ice, garnish with 1 slice of lime and 1 sprig of rosemary.
